My name is Holly
Sloofman and I am currently a first-year student athlete at
Oberlin College. I play field hockey and lacrosse for Oberlin, a
Division III school that has won the North Coast Atlantic
Conference for Field hockey and lacrosse several times in the
past two decades. Since the first time I picked up a field
hockey stick it has been my goal to play for a collegiate team.
This goal could not have been attained however without the help
of the All Sports Conditioning program. After training my high
school lacrosse team, the intensity and physical condition of my
team as well as myself grew enormously and allowed us to become
better players with more strength, agility, and speed. I decided
to continue training with All Sports after our team had stopped,
and focus on training for better speed and agility focused on
field hockey to attain my goals of playing for the college of my
choice. I not only became faster and stronger, but became more
aware of the strength I had and what I could achieve on the
field with a better hit and technique. After coming to school,
able to squat 160 lbs, bench almost 90, and with a faster mile
and sprint time I had ever had, my coach noticed my level of
fitness and acknowledged that it was because I came into the
program so physically healthy that I was able to learn so much
in such a small period of time. My stick skills, hitting, and
agility improved tremendously and because I was so fit I did not
suffer from any injuries, which would have hindered the process.
I now play the majority of my games and have All Sports to thank
for allowing me to get to the place I had always dreamed of:
playing collegiate Field Hockey.
Thanks All Sports!
